Mining & Mineral processing facilities generate significant heat and corrosive gases that are treated, and then ultimately vented through large chimneys or smokestacks. Many times, the height of these stacks can exceed 100 metres. Our multicraft construction skills and advanced rope access techniques enable us to perform repairs & maintenance on these large structures safely and expediently.
Hamcock Industrial Access engineers solutions that are safe, efficient, environmentally sound, and technically and economically feasible. From tasks like industrial chimney & smokestack cleaning and inspections to installation and repair of safety platforms, ladders, access structures, lighting and lightning protection, Hamcock Rope Access has the capabilities and expertise to handle projects on tight outage schedules as well as to help our customers plan ahead for future improvements to structures.
Since Mining & Mineral facilities include many heavy wear processes, the equipment and structures require a pro-active maintenance & inspection routine to avoid downtime and prevent accidents.
Mining and Mineral Facilities and Plants can turn to us for:
- On-site welding & fabrication
- Ore Bin (Silo) Inspection, Maintenance and Unclogging
- Gunite application, repair and replacement
- Sandblasting & painting application, industrial coatings, surface preparation and application
- Conveyor Systems & Material Handling Conveyor Systems inspection & repair
- Concrete, Steel, FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) structure inspection & repair
- Ductwork & Breaching Inspection and Repair
Hamcock Industrial Access offers inspection, testing and preventive maintenance techniques including:
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) – NDT methods (Ultrasonic Thickness Testing, Schmidt Hammer Testing, Laser Surveys, and Hot Camera Inspections) help determine the structural integrity of industrial structures without inflicting damage. Since no samples are taken from the structure, performance and usefulness is not affected. Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) Testing is an extremely popular NDT service. It uses UT meters to identify areas of corrosion, erosion and excessive wear that causes weaknesses in the structure.
Infrared Thermography – Hamcock Rope Access uses Infrared Thermography to help identify leakages of heat that may occur at welds, couplings, valves, junctions, or connections in structures, piping, ductwork, breaching or stack construction. Identifying & repairing these vulnerabilities early can prevent outages and plant shutdowns which can be more costly and time consuming.
